But, there is a hitch. Much like our past two NSCs, we share our weekend with the formidable Bring On the Bay in Ottawa (an event we LOVE!), and we share our day with Norfolk's own Tour de Norfolk, a road bike event that takes over many of the county's sideroads (and hotels). If that weren't enough, this year's North Shore Challenge falls on a weekend with a Friday the 13th. And if you are even vaguely familiar with biker culture, you will know that 100,000 bikers could be descending on Port Dover this weekend as well. YEEESH!
So, what we are telling you, dear reader/North Shore fan, is that if you are planning to stay in Norfolk County the weekend of the race, ESPECIALLY if you are vying for one of the coveted 10km marathon spots (which requires you attend the safety meeting on Saturday, the 14th), you will need to book your accommodations NOW! Fortunately, we have you covered. Two of our locally-owned and run hotspots to stay and play are once again offering our swimmers exclusive deals:
