This will be our last blog post before the big race, tomorrow! And speaking of big, here’s some big news about little people!
As part of our membership in the SWOOWS, we now have a swim designed for all the little fishes who want to join the big fishes – The Mighty Minnows 300 m Lake Erie swim will take place immediately following the 3.8km and 1km finishes, approximately 11 am, on July 15th. Swimmers 12 yo and under can register at the Turkey Point Pavilion for only $15 (cash only) between 7 and 9 am.
Our mighty minnow will start at the same start/finish line as the big fish, and will swim 150m along the swim buoy line at Turkey Point, turn around at a marker buoy, and return to the beach. The water is no more than 4ft deep along the whole course, and parents are welcome to swim along with their mighty minnow. Minnows will also be wearing a personal float buoy, courtesy of SwimBuddy.
The best part is, Mighty Minnows will receive a cap, medal, and swag bag, just like the big fish! If your child is interested in open water swimming, the SWOOWS Mighty Minnows races are definitely for you!
And if the big fishes haven’t registered yet, you have until 8pm tonight to do so online, www.northshorechallenge.ca, or else wait in line tomorrow to same-day register, from 7-9 am, at the Turkey Point Pavilion.
Come out and have a great day of racing, charity BBQing, and fun with us, and help us raise lots of money for the fine people at Camp Trillium Childhood Cancer Support Centre!
