GSS Canadian Championships come to the North Shore!

We promised you that the fifth anniversary of the North Shore Challenge would be a big one, and we aim to deliver! We kicked things off with throwback pricing in January. It was so popular that our 10km marathon event sold out in less than a month! We have followed it up in February with a sweetheart of a deal – $55 entries all month long. And now this:

We are overjoyed to announce that the North Shore Challenge for Camp Trillium will be the host of the Global Swim Series Canadian Championships! We have been a member race in the GSS since its inception, and cannot be more excited to celebrate that relationship by inviting open water swimmers from across Canada and the Globe to Lake Erie on July 21st.

Beginning in 2017, the Global Swim Series has celebrated the global open water swim community with 8 world class championship events in locations such as Charleston, SC; Vansbro, Sweden; Sydney, Australia; Midmar Nature Reserve, South Africa; all culminating in the GSS Global Championships every May in Cancun, Mexico. In 2019, Turkey Point, ON, and Lake Erie join this illustrious group!

The best part is, all you have to do to qualify for the GSS Canadian Championships is to register for the North Shore Challenge. All registered swimmers will be eligible to be named GSS Canadian Champion, by winning our 1 km, 3.8 km, or 10 km events!

Speaking of the 10 km marathon, we are hard at work to try to open up additional spots, to coincide with the GSS Canadian Championships announcement – after all, the more world-class swimmers we can have competing in our jewel distance, the better! So if you have been mulling it over, REGISTER NOW for the 3.8 km, get your name on our 10 km waiting list, and we will notify you as son as additional spots are made available!
