Welcome to Lake Erie!
We are very proud of being from Norfolk County – it comes through in everything we do! In fact, the North Shore Challenge was developed as a way to showcase Norfolk as an ideal place to visit if you are an endurance athlete!
While the North Shore Challenge takes place on a Sunday, we encourage you to spend the weekend with us – or bring the family and make a vacation week out of it – and visit the many highlights that make us Ontario’s Garden! There’s a lot of things to do and something for everyone – shopping, beaches, wine tours, kayaking and many other activities to try.
Where to Stay
Why not make the North Shore Challenge an adventure getaway for you and the whole family? We’ve been fortunate to partner with two very unique accommodations very close to the race locations. Both are offering great discounts for competitors and their families to experience the race and all that Norfolk County has to offer. Explore our two partners below to chose your resting place in Norfolk County!
Normandale Century Inn
The Normandale Century Inn, located in the heart of Norfolk County, was built in 1875 by John Dey Post and was originally named the Normandale General Store. Since then it has been owned by various entrepreneurs and remained a general store until 1996 when the current owners, Hans and Brenda, expanded this local store to include an inn and restaurant.
Normandale is a quiet and serene hamlet bordered by Lake Erie, Crown Land, a Reforestation Project and a Wildlife Refuge. It is an ideal location for bird watching, cycling, walking, and enjoying all that the area has to offer.
All of our rooms have a private ensuite, satellite television, high speed wireless internet, and are air conditioned. Breakfast is included with all reservations.
Our restaurant serves delicious country cuisine and features a large outdoor patio, a beautiful gazebo and a cozy lounge all licensed by LCBO.
As Official Accomodations for the North Shore Challenge, The Normandale Century Inn is offering swimmers a 15% discount. To book a room at this Historic Inn, please call (519) 426-8345, or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
